About

boundaries + crossings is a multidisciplinary journal started by imagining global asia (iga) that showcases the beauty and struggles of daily life through creative and scholarly work. Started in 2007 with a focus on the people and cultures of Asia, b+crossings explores contemporary issues from culture to politics and looks concretely at these issues through the experiences of people’s daily lives. Past work has looked at Vietnamese-Americans visiting Vietnam, the Korean Diaspora in Argentina and the boundaries created by one’s accent in New York.

b+crossings has produced public lectures, gallery exhibits, and online publications. b+crossings has instituted a new applied research effort called On the Ground to test solutions to everyday challenges.

b+crossings seeks to publish online, in print and on the street.

Sign-up to receive our Public Research newsletter; newsletters come out approximately twice a month. We are currently examining the urban issues of education, food, housing, jobs, trasnportation and air/soil/water pollution.
